Summary of 2024 projects using Anna Griffin products

 Here are a few projects I completed with Anna Griffin products:

 

Made a Valentine’s Day card for my hubby using Carte Canton Bleu as base, topped with Romantic stickers and sentiments. 

Love the Carte Canton Bleu collection. The pretty blue color reminds me of the classic Chinese vase and other art.

I made these birthday cards at our AZ Griffin Gals Spring Convention a couple of weeks ago. Had fun using the 3D mini birthday cake die set and birthday wishes embellishments and meeting up with all my Griffinite friends!

I scrapped an older picture with heirloom paper and embellishments. Love using the new journaling tags cut and emboss folders. They are perfect for any scrapbook pages.

I had fun making this layout with the beautiful papers and embellishments from the Wildflower Meadow scrapbook kit. The picture frame and borders were made with Wildflower Meadow frame and die set and 3D ribbon border dies.

I used paper from the Lian Multicultural Cardstock collection and a Floral 12" Border Sticker for this travel layout. The title is from Wildflower Meadow Papercraft Kit and the embellishments were made with Spellbinder's Lena Fok lantern die and AG's Christmas Wishes Luxury Matte Foil.

I crafted with some friends at a Friendsgiving crop. I love how pretty the Lilian paper collection is. I also used the 3D Ribbon Border Dies and Floral Border Stickers as embellishments.

I dug up some old pics of a daughter-father dance and used the floral papers from CAH and made this layout.

I made my husband this Father's Day card using AG's cigar labels. I haven't crafted for a while so it feels wonderful to be back at it again.

I made a few AG Flower Cart birthday cards for my friends. It was 116F outside and the best way to beat the heat was to craft indoors LOL!

My daughter and I visited Greece together recently after her semester abroad in Europe. I love how blue the sky and ocean were. I used AG's Canton Bleu paper and embellishments to highlight those beautiful blues. I'm in love with these blues in this Mother's Day layout. I used the border and frame de from Crop at Home 2 for accents.

Making 24 cards for my crafty friends. I did a flat version of the snow globe card using AG's snow globe dies, cartouche cut and emboss folders and Christmas bontanical pattern card stockl It was a lot of fun making these.

Lunar New Year Card

Growing up, I loved celebrating Chinese New year with my family. I had such fond memories that I tried to create the same festive atmosphere at home for my kids with special food and decorations. 

However, this is my first year making a Lunar New Year card. The reason I decided to make one this year is because of Anna Griffin's Carte Canton Bleu Finishing Box. The blue vases in the kit reminded me of the beautiful antique vases that my parents had in their home. So I dressed the embellishments up with a little bit of red, pulled out my Chinese Greetings die cut set, together with a cherry blossom die from Hero Arts and Anna Griffin's 3D fantastic fan die and created the card. It is featured in Anna's blog in her Craftspiration - Jan 12, 2023 post.

The sentiment is in Chinese, meaning "blossoming flowers bringing good luck."

In 2022, I made some thank you cards for friends who supported my Go2 foundation for lung cancer 5K walk. I used Anna's Wildflower Garden Collection, 3D Butterfly dies and Cartouche Cut and Emboss folders. It was a lot of fun making them.

For my anniversary, I made my hubby a card from Anna's Fantastic Flip Die 2. It was featured on Anna's blog in her Craftspiration - September 29, 2022. 

I also made some cards for my church's caring ministry. I used Anna's Inspirational Collage Card Topper. I made the embellishments with her Pleated Ribbon Die. These cards were featured in her Craftspiration - October, 2022 post. 

New cards made with Anna Griffin products

Lately, I've been using a lot of Anna Griffin's products, for feminine cards and also for those milestone scrapbook pages. 

I am honored to see a few of my cards have been featured in Anna's blog. The first set was featured in her Craftspiration - May 5th, 2022 blog. The two cards were sympathy cards that I needed to send quickly. I was sad to hear of the losses but the "inspiration card toppers" made it easier to put the card together. It was also a pleasure to work with the die and embossing folders from her "wildflower craft box". 

The next set of birthday cards were fun to make. I used Anna's oval easel die, her flourish die and treasury die and stamp sets to create the sentiments. These cards are featured in Anna's Craftspiration - May 25th, 2022 blog. 

March PPC Paper Pad Challenge

 I haven't done any challenges for a long time, and the PPC challenge is just the right one to start out again.  It is a 'use your paperpad' challenge and I used Basic Grey Serendipity & Shine On pad for these two birthday layouts.  I was able to dig up some old Thickers, leftover chipboard from an old BG calendar kit and a K&Co rub-on.   This is the perfect 'use your stash' projects.

Simple yet beautiful card kits in bulk

With the use of Queen & Co foundation and sentiment dies, I find that it's very easy to make simple yet beautiful card kits in bulk for a fun card-making gathering.   I recently made 30 of these (1 card kit, 2 styles)  for our church's women fellowship, and the feedback from my gracious friends was very positive!   Similarly these can be used for teenage outreach program or nursing homes.   It is a fun way to get everyone together and craft.  

It is particularly useful during this time of pandemic since it's hard to have large group congregate (we don't want any super spreader events though we do want to spread the love) and many gatherings have to be on Zoom.  As we can't share tools in person, having these card kits ready makes crafting a breeze.  It is easy to include a simple instruction or video along with the kits.  I think I will do more of these in the future.

Project 52 - Week 3

This is Week 3 of Project 52.  It has been an extraordinarily cold week, with 28F weather, even colder than the East Coast.  It's a nice week for fire in the backyard, and some marshmellow roasting.

With hubby away for a personal trip, the kids insisted upon 'camping out' in the living room.  Why not?  It's the weekend.. and it's warmer when we all sleep in one big room!  :)

Project 52 - Week 2

This week, I've written about some warm weather food I've cooked for the family.  There are some really good childhood memories attached to these recipes since mom made quite a few of them in the winter when I was young.

I've also written about my journey to take care of my leg/back pain since my pain doctor has decided to stop treating me with the trigger point injections.  I am going to think about what my plans are in order to get rid of the pain... so here it is:

Project 52 - Week 1

The last half of 2012 has been tough due to some health issues.  I have not abandoned scrapping or card-making... but I just didn't have the energy to.  Even when I did have the energy, I was not in the mood to craft.

I'm hoping that with some changes, I can get my health back in 2013.  And to find my lost mojo, I've joined a Project 52 Weekly Scrap Challenge.  I'm hoping this challenge will hold me accountable to do at least one mini layout each week... and a way to start a journal for this new year.  I think this will be a somewhat exciting year with lots of changes.

To start off, I am going to use my Fuji Instax Mini 7S Camera to help me out.  I also discovered some apps that will help me print out my iPhone pictures at my local stores.  These will be very helpful as I will be needing a photo or two each week.

This week is a recap of what we did over the Christmas holidays.  It's been a very nice staycation and though I rested a lot, we still managed to do a few of our favourite family activities.  The nicest thing this season was the music that filled our house.  All it took was an informal recital to inspire a little kid to play Christmas music on the piano all day long.  It then inspired his sister to play as well.  It was a delight for sure!

Teacher's Gifts

It's end of the year, and this year I was a little bit short on time so I made altered boxes for my kid's teachers. I started with beautiful decorative boxes in the teacher's favorite colors, and then I added matching embellishments.

The first one is for my daughter's creative and loving teacher. She loves black, white and red, so I picked a box that is black and white to start with. The wonderful thing is that the box has a quote about how valuable learning is, and is just perfect for my daughter's wonderful teacher because she really dedicated in helping the kids to develop a love for learning! I added the beautiful ribbon, the red rose and some Prima pearls to the top of the box.

The second box is for my son's equally wonderful teacher. She's an astonishing teacher, and this year she taught a combined kindergarten/1st grade class and did a wonderful job! Her favorite colors are blue and green, so I picked this beautiful nature-theme box for her:

Because the box itself is so pretty, I didn't use any patterned papers. Instead I added matching flowers, butterflies and pearls to accent the beautiful patterns.

Things I love about you

This picture was taken when we visited Legoland in 2007, and when you were really into face-painting.  By now, you've already outgrown face-painting... and it got me thinking, how fast you've grown.  Well, not that fast, really.  But in my mind, I seem to only remember holding you UPRIGHT in our arms, walking around and around in the living room, sometimes for hours it seems, until the tiny little you stop crying and fall asleep.

And we never seem to have told you enough how much we love you.  We want to tell you for each 'issue' we have with you, there is a blessing that you bring to us.  And really, as many flaws as you or anyone has, you have as many wonderful good qualities.  But it really doesn't matter, because really, deep in our hearts, we love you just for who you are: a gift to us from God.  We need to tell you that.

And I probably could also tell you that I really love the new Konnichiwa line from Basic Grey!   And I'm taking up on the challenge to use some other shapes than rectangle and square... so I used quite a few circles, taken from the blossom motif in the background paper.   And while we're on the Asian theme here, I also break out some K&Co Mira embellishments.  And that reminds me, we have to scrap those Shanghai pictures soon... before we make 3 more trips there....

Home (from ours to yours)

One of the NSD challenges today is to create a layout about home... or what makes it a home.  For a family like ours, it is of course all about ......  FOOD!   

Culturally, we always gather with family and friends around food.  It is more so for our family.  We all love food, the kiddies love dessert especially, and I happen to like baking... well I got into baking because of them.   It has become my love language, and hopefully their best family memories.  

We always bake cookies or cupcakes together for major holidays.. perhaps it's just an excuse.  But I love cooking for them, and I love it when they love my food!   My son once told his teacher, of all things, that I'm a baker.  I can be a gazillion things (you know how moms are), but to my dear child, I'm a baker - Ha!   I had no idea I would make this kind of mark in his life!  And my daughter requests that I make this special sponge cake (of course complete with whipped cream frosting and a ton of fruit) for her birthday every year.   It just warms my heart.  Of course, I cooked everything the way my love would want, and for the first year of our married life, I had his mom's number on speed dial (there are no recipes in her generation).  This.. is how I think of my home, food, made with love, and eaten together as a family as we share our daily stories from work or from school.  And I hope this is how my family remembers it, full of delightful aromas.. maybe from sautéed onion and garlic, or the sweet smell of vanilla cupcakes or fresh baked Chinese pastries...  and eaten around the dinner table, full of laughter and silly stories.  

For this important layout, I naturally chose... Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry line!  I based it off of a Becky Fleck sketch from her book.  The rest is just ... natural!

Basic Grey Sketch Challenge 4.23.12

I love this week's sketch from Basic Grey.  I've always wanted to try adding horizontal embellishment strips to a layout as accent.  This sketch gives me the perfect chance to try it out.

I chose the sunny Lauderdale line to go with the fun Legoland pictures during my son's first trip there.  I used 3 pictures and some fun rub-ons and embellishments to complete this layout.  I had fun making it.

Dress Form

I participated in a dress form swap a while ago and had the most fun making them.   I decided to go with two projects, 1 with fabric and 1 with paper.. well, sort of.

I had some help with my first one. I spotted this cute necklace holder at Ross.  The original dress is very pretty, but a bit too revealing, so I decided to get some fabrics and alter it for my friend.  She loves pink, and she loves vintage dresses, so I tried to make a dress that'll fit her style.  I made a pink dress and layered it with pink organza, and added pearly trims to the  bodice.

For my second project, I went with my favorite medium, acrylic. I used alcohol ink for the background colours, and added rub-ons and gemstones as embellishments.  I had a lot of fun making them, and would like to make some for myself next time.

For this month's project, I chose the cute little Chickie cupcake cling stamp.   I stamped the image on a scalloped chipboard and coloured it.  Then I layered it with a few more 'yummy' patterned papers for a cheerful birthday card.  It isn't summer yet, but I'm dreaming of some summer fruits and desserts already!

This month's theme is gift wrapping.  The first thing that comes to mind is Christmas gifts.  Many of my friends enjoy a cup of premium coffee at their favourite coffee house, so I'm planning on getting a few coffee gift cards and making gift boxes to hold them. 

I made the box using a Sizzix XL die.  Making the tag is the fun part.  I used another Sizzix die to make an ornament, and stamped the coffee image (from the DeNami espresso petit four stamp set) on it.  Then I used some Stickles to add the 'snow flakes' and to accent the ornament.   Lastly, I tied the ornament around the gift box and I've got a wonderful Christmas present for my friends!

For this Blog Hop, I used the Tropical Fruit Stamp from DeNami's Petit Fours collections.  These stamps are perfect for any summer themes.  In making this card, I used 3 stamps only.  I stamped and coloured the images on white card stock, added epoxy stickers to form a circle around the sun, and added stickles to the inked frame. 

I had fun making this summery card.  I love using bright colours and yummy fruits.  I hope this will brighten up your day too!

Monogram Box for Colleen

Colleen likes earth tone,  so I tried to look for more neutral colours that may fit her scraproom.  I went with light orange because I really love the flowers and thought it would still be a good match for her room.

Like what I did with the other monogram boxes, I started with a basic white paper box from Michael's.  I used mod podge to glue the papers on and added the embellishments.  I did use some neutral coloured trims and pearls to tone down the colours.  I added the die cut butterfly as an accent and added embellishments sparingly so that the beautiful background colour can show through.
